4 Years and still going.

Saturday March 25th was my4th new life birthday. You see I had a pancreas transplant 4 years ago in Madison Wisconsin. So every March 25th is my new life Birthday, having had Diabetes since I was 8 years of age this is defenitly a new life.

Well anyways a couple of days ago my wife informs me that her father would like my help on Saturday, no problem we seldom do anything on a Saturday. So I go there, end up ordering him a new computer, did some work in his pole barn then head home for dinner around 6:00. I get home and I see that a friend of ours is over, nothing unusual, then I get into the house and find that a couple of friends are over. So now I am greeted with hugs and shouts of "Happy Pancreas Day."

It was great, we had a Fondue dinner with cheese to start, then the meat and vegies, ending with the chocolate, everyone had food blisters. Rebecca made Pancreas shaped cookies, and some butter scottch cookies, my wife got me black jelly beans and tootsie pops, there were mini eclairs to snack on, and we ended the night with cotton candy. It was a diabetics dream (which by the way, the insurance companies still few me as a Diabetic because even though I have a new Pancreas in my body it is not my own). The day was great.

A big THANK YOU to Neil and Melissa for suppling the Fondue pots and eclairs, Rebecca for all the goodies, and to Mike for the Reeses minis, and to my wife and son for be there for me and with me for all these years.

Kids, got to love them.

My main job title is "Domestic God", but I do computer repair and networking on the side. I had two different times this week where I had to deal with kids being around me when I was working.

The first was at the local internet cafe where I maintain the computers for them, the office managers daughter happen to be in one morning when I was updating their systems, while I was starting up the computers I started clicking on different icons that I wanted to work with. When all of a sudden this 8 year old little girl proceeds to tell me that I have to wait til everything is loaded before I start clicking on anything. First I just looked at her and said, "Please leave." Then I looked at her and told her that after she takes a minimum of two years of computer classes then she can tell me how to work a computer.

My second encounter happened when I was cloning some machines at a community school. I was in a computer lab finishing up on some computers when some of the students in the room started complaining that they could not get into their Hotmail accounts, I laughed to myself as I heard all their complaints including how stupid the school was. All I could think to myself was that they have more freedom on the computers than some companies that I know of, I should have said something, but hey they are teenager.

Everyone I know seems to have a blogsite, so I thought, what the heck why not do one of my own. So here it is.
